Soooooo its the final countdown (i like that song). im gonna graduate in 16 days and i am soooo scared! i dont have money or a job lined up and im freaking out!!! i look for a job almost every single day. As of may 15th i can no longer work here in the lovely anthropology office! that makes me soo sad. it is the best job i have ever had! so flexible and fun! oh well time to move on i guess. . . . . . I just wish I had a plan!! Ihave faith in God and my family and friends that they will help me figure out my life! Im doing great in all my classes though so thats always a plus! Oh and volleyball ended with a bang!! We made it all the way to the national club volleyball championship game. We played in front of thousands of other volleyballers! It was sooooo exciting and I was soo happy because I have never expereienced anything like that and I waited 5 years to play in front of that crowd and by the grace of God, it finally happened! it was amazing even though we lost in 2 games! I was sooo proud of our team and thats something Im gonna remember forever! Oh and the team we played was UCSB. We beat them in November in a San Diego tournament to win that tournament. Also we beat them in Las Vegas tournament to win that tournment too!! It sucks but it is very hard to beat a team 3 times in a row like they say. . . . uuughhhhhh oh well it was a great experience and this was the best year I have ever had playing volleyball! Im gonna miss it and all the good times I have shared with all my wonderful girls!

Its been awhile like it always is. What is up in my life . . .well i graduate in like a month and a half! Im excited and maybe actually on the way in figuring out what Im gonna do with my life! yeah me! volleyball is great. . we won the las vegas open this past spring break (march 20-21st)! It was an exciting two days and we all played so great and didnt lose a single match! School is the best its ever been in my whole college career. I am doing so good (not to brag) in all my classes and I got all my graduation ceremony plans figured out! Work is easy and non-stressful and enjoyable. My love life is . . . well I will just keep ya in the dark about that for now! hahaha April fools! lol ummm the family back in phx is great too, im pretty sure! So all in all nothing absolutly new with my life and everything in it is going great! I can only thank the lord every single day for blessing me with a great family, job, school and friends! Hopefully when school is over I will have more chances to blog . . . . .

School started! yay??

So school started on Wednesday and it was not bad at all . . . except it was boring so i guess it was bad but not too bad lol. All we do the first days of classes is go over the syllabuses (syllaby? i cant spell). Anyways the classes seem ok and not too hard. I figured out all my finances and bought all the things I need/wanted to buy for school and what not and I feel prepared for the next few months except for graduation which is the most important thing! I have a meeting with my advisor next week to continue with the next step of the graduation process but that whole thing is not too hard. I just dont know what I am going to be doing after May 17th!! Im scared but hopefully within the next couple of months God will point me in the right direction! I like order and cleanliness and planning most of the time so I like to know ahead of time what is going on so not knowing kinda makes me nervous but in church a couple weeks ago the sermon was on not worring and trusting God which is what I want to try to do more of this year. The only things that I am really focusing on are God, Family, School, Volleyball, Work and Friends in that order! I like to juggle all those things and it is pretty easy to do when i am organized! Im thinking about ordering a razor scooter but they are expensive. I would use it to scoot around to classes everyday lol but i dont want to look like a dork. This weekend is a 3 day weekend! (4 for me since i dont have classes or work on Friday) BUT i have to ref volleyball on Saturday and Sunday and I have to do some stuff for work (likely I dont have to actually go in and I can do it on my computer at home.) I really wanted to go snowboarding or something fun this weekend but oh well! Anyways I can't wait to graduate but im going to miss U of A sooooooo much! I love the whole college enviroment and Im soaking in every bit of it! Bye bye for now! OH! and i got a new camera for christmas!! yeah!!!!!!

Wow! It has been a long time since I lasted blogged . . . It's coming down to the end of the semester and I am excited for Christmas!! Let's see . . . Alot has happen in this last month and a half. My birthday was fun. Just hung out with friends and ate. Volleyball is going good. We won the san diego tournament, then the next week we got 2nd in the ASU tournament which I was sooo upset that we didnt win (because we should have!) Oh well, ASU is coming down today actually and we are going to play them 3 out of 5 at 5:00! Im excited and I hope we do well! Volleyball is a lot of fun and I love all my teammates! What else what else . . . Thanksgiving was really good. My sister made her first Thanksgiving dinner and it was sooo delicious! Then my mom made her traditional day-after-Thanksgiving dinner and it was sooo good as usual! I loved being at home with the family, playing with my nephews and playing the wii! Hmmmm Obama won, yeah!! Catching up on Lost (im on season 2 episode 13 i think) I gotta watch 2 more seasons before January 21st! I lost/left my ipod on the plane from san diego trip (tear . . . ) I am sooo sad but im gonna invest in a ipod touch in january so its not too bad plus all my music is on my computer anyways! I still dont have a camera (crossing my fingers for one for christmas) but i stole some from my facebook!

Halloween

What should I be for Halloween? I hate Halloween. its a dumb "holiday". Decorating for it is kinda of fun though. Not as fun as decorating for Christmas though!! I cant wait for that . . and for my birthday . . . Anyways this past weekend were family photos!!! They looked great on camera! I cant wait to see the printed versions of them. We havent done a family photo in like 11 years. It was fun but tryin to get a almost 2 year old to hold still and cooperate is almost impossible but we got some good ones. School is going great, volleyball is getting better (so exctied for a first tournament in san diego!) and work is easy, fun and very flexible! What I am trying to focus on now is getting my financial situation in order. After last weeks sermen on getting out of debt, I thought it was time for me to try and get out of debt and make a plan for the next couple of years. Im trying to figure out my costs for my last semester at the U of A, thinking about taking a job as a medical tech for a few months, then applying for PA school (which will cost a pretty penny), then so on and so forth. I love to be organized so hopefully i will make a good plan and stick with it! I cant wait to graduate from U of A with a BS in Psychology!! But i know im going to miss the college life . . . just like i miss the high school life . . . oh well i gotta grow up sometime and I know im going to make the best out of these last months of college cus they are going by sooooo fast!!!

Blogging is fun! And the best thing about it is that i can do it whenever i feel like it! Sweet deal. Hmm so whats new in my life? Well volleyball is going well and school is actually going well too! Gotta love them psych classes! They are so interesting! I am so close to graduating that I can taste it! But it kinda scares me cus i dont know what I will be doing. My ideal plan is that i start applying for PA schools (once I narrow the search and come up with the money) soon as possible and try to start PA school in January 2010. But anways back to the present. This past weekend we did a volleyball fundraiser where we worked at the Rodeo. I have done it every year for the past 5 years and every year it got a little better (even though it sucks cus its hot and we work all day!) And i feel, smelll, and taste dirt!! I need a 3.62 hour shower. Anyways this year wasnt that bad and I made the best of it! Halloween is coming up! wonder what i will be this year . . . ghostbuster? ninja turtle? whatever halloween is dumb hahaha. My birthday is coming up and i will be 23 . . wow i will be old/im getting old/oh no! im old lol

So its been a while since I wrote my last blog. Let's see what has changed . . . . Uhhhh i have to pay my own cell phone bill now . . great. I dont know how ima pay for this semester but I will find some way to get through it . . hopefully and if I don't please be kind to me when you see me inbetween intersections selling newspapers. Hmmm I decided to try out for volleyball this year!! So I weighed the pros and cons of playing and i figured: a. i dont have anything else to fill my time b. i love playing and competing and c. I love the people! So yeah volleyball will consume so of my time now so thats good. What else . . . I have been tryin to keep up with whats going on with the elections. I watched both of the convenctions and discovered a lot of interesting facts about both canidates. . . . maybe i have made my decision but propbably not. I still got a good month or so to decide. I just hope no matter who is president, that things will change for the better! Hmmm also I have been watching and hearing about those crazy hurricanes. I am just praying that people get to safety and that it does not cost too much to repair all the damages. Man, mother nautre can be mean sometimes and there isnt much that we can do about it! School is going okay, work is easy and fun and ummmm my family is always loving, supporting and funny! I cant wait to see them tomorrow!

School 101

School started yesterday . . . . blaaahhh! All psychology classes this semester which should be interesting and NO CLASSES OR WORK ON FRIDAY!!!!! yeessssssssss oh and i am definitely looking forward to this upcoming 4 day weekend!! Thats like half the week i think wait yeah it is! sweet tea! (thats my new saying ima try it out for abit and see if it works haha). Oh this past weekend was one of the greatest weekends every because my sister Destiny her husband Reggie their two kids (my perfect adorable nephews) Mikel and Mikah and my mom and dad came down from phx to stay here in Tucson!! it was soooo awesome! i didnt want them to leave but then I remembered that I am going up there this coming weekend sooooo it will be fine. Well now that school has started I hope that I wont be too busy to blog . . . .

World's Worst College Educated Speller

It has been brought to my attention by an anonymous source, that I am not good at spelling. If you read some of my blogs you can definitely tell that my grammar and spelling skills need some improvement. I mean I really already know that I am not a good speller. I think it started in high school and got worse as the years went by. I use to be so good at spelling in elementary school! I could spell words like bread (hahaha Destiny!) and other big words like that! I mean its not like you would ever catch me in one of those spelling bees but I was decent. But then it all faded away. I think it was because I stopped reading. I use to read books all the time for fun. But then I kind of just stopped! But I am recently getting back into reading books for fun so maybe that means my spelling will improve? Perhaps, but until then all I can say is thank God for spell check (I actually used it about 29.7 times on this post just now)

So this year is the Olympics and I am soooo proud to be an American! haha well i am always proud to be an American but there is just something about the summer Olympics that makes me want to do something great or actually be someone great! There are so many Olympic events that people have the opportunity to be excellent at. Of course my favorites to watch are beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, track and field, basketball, swimming, gymnastics and so on. But even events that don't get much media or viewers like fencing, badminton and rowing are still cool and exciting because hey its the Olympics! It's a time were athletes shine (or sometimes dont shine) and a time for the best to prove to the world that they are the best. I really can't believe that these events have been going on for so long! It's mind boggling. I do beleive that this might be the best Olympics ever with so many records being broken and what not. Watching all these athletes makes me want to become a great athlete as well. It makes my mind think about what I can do to be great or change the world or make a statement for myself . . . . I guess I got a lot of thinking to do but I do also feel that if God wanted me to be great (which I know he does) then I will be! He has a plan for all of us and it is our job to be patient enough for his plan for us to fall into place. I feel like if I trust in God's plan and believe that he knows what he is doing, then I really cant go wrong!!

So if anyone watched the men's swimming 4 by 1 relay last night, you know that USA SMASHED France after the French talked sooo much crap! The race was sooooo incredible! It was probably one of the best performances I have ever seen in the Olympics EVER. That performance will definitely go down in history. Honestly I thought that the French had won it but then the USA didn't give up and won in the end by .08 seconds!! Not only did they SMASH the French but they also SMASHED the world record!! Even though Phelps set an American record to lead the team it was Lezak's anchor that pulled through in the end. I still can't believe it and truly feel that was a miracle. Birthday fun!

So this past weekend was great!! I went up to Phoenix for my brother-in-law Reggie's 24th birthday! We had a Caribbean theme going on and it was pretty cool. My sister (Reggie's wife) did such a good job decorating and preparing all the food and everything. It was really creative and a lot of friends and family were there. We set up a badminton court in the backyard and ate all the food and what not on the patio. It was fun! And best of all I got to play with my nephews all weekend! I wish I had rechargeable batteries for my camera otherwise I would have and will start to take lots of pictures! Don't worry pictures will hopefully come very soon!

So for those who do not know, I used to/still play volleyball. I used to love playing and competing and practices so much! I started playing of course because of my older sister Destiny (I sometimes like to follow in her footsteps even though my feet are about half as big as hers are). I started in 6th grade and as the years went by I started to not enjoy as I once did. But it was weird because my volleyball appreciation and enjoyment would vary from year to year and sometimes from practices to practices! It has been apart of my life for the past 10 years or so and has taught me all the good things like teamwork and friendship and blah blah. I played all the way up to my senior year in high school and despite the encourage meant from my parents and coaches I decided not to play club that year and to not try and play volleyball in college. The mixed feelings I had toward the sport drove me to make a choose that I do not think that I regret but just wished that I would have thought about a little more. My parents were less than thrilled with my decision but when it came down to it I think that they understood. well at least I hope they did. So fast forward to freshman year in college at the U of A. I did not know many people here because not one of my friends from high school wanted to join me as a wildcat but being the "outgoing" person that I am, I managed to scramble up a few friends when I found out about the club volleyball team. I enjoyed it that year but as the years went by I started to get discouraged again and frustrated with practice. Last year was suppose to be my last year playing but due to my indecisive ways I changed my major (but that's a whole new issue that could be discussed later). This past year was, in a like for a better word, bad due to my negative attitude and unwillingness to be apart of a team. It did get better at the end but I felt no desire to do anything which was unfair to my teammates. I did not want my last year of playing ball to be like that. So this year I have a choice to play or not to play. I want my last year of playing to be spectacular but I also do not want my volleyball attitude to get the best of me like it did this past year. There are many different reasons why I would play and many different reasons why I would not play. So what it comes down to is that I really don't know what I want/should do!!! I want to make this last year of college THE BEST year of school ever! And right now I am trying to decide how to make that goal come true . . . . .

So after much contemplation, consideration and deliberation (all these words are synonyms of each other in case there was some confusion) I have decided to start and hopefully continue a blog!!! Thanks to and also inspired by my older sister Destiny Long ooohh wait sorry Destiny Alfonso, I have been sucked into the blog world. I think doing this whole blogging thingy will help me to express myself in anyway that I want to! It's also a stress releaser from the everyday trials of my life that's filled with being a college student, working and trying to stay physically fit. Along with all the mandatory parties I have to attend and those late night runs to McDonalds, it seems like I have my plate full of delicious desserts and I just had a 5 course meal. But like they say there's always room for dessert. Well actually the saying goes there's always room for Jello but you get the idea. My newly inspired knack for writing has seem to make me happy which is kind of strange since for the longest time I used to hate it. I think it might have been my Women's study class that I took this summer that caused me to start to like writing. Or maybe it was that book I read by Chelsea Handler called My Horizontal Life that did it. HAHA that book was funny. Well anyways I don't really know what it was but I'm glad I found something that I kind of maybe sort of enjoy doing! Even if no one ever comes to read my blogs ( i bet my sister will always!) I won't mind because this blog is really for me to express my thoughts and feelings and ideas! Don't get me wrong I would love everyone to read and comment but hey you know I wont get butt-hurt if I don't! Ok well i guess this is my very fist blog entry! Yeah alright awesome!
